Pantaenius, named after the company founder Johann C. Pantaenius, was entered in the Hamburg register of companies in 1899. Shortly thereafter it made a name for itself in marine and transport insurance.

International relationships and excellent contacts have comprised the basis of the business from the beginning.

1997 formation through Pantaenius' division into two legally independent enterprises:

Pantaenius Versicherungsmakler GmbH, which pursues the traditional insurance broker business, and Pantaenius GmbH & Co. KG, which specialises exclusively in yacht insurance.

Since 1997 Pantaenius Versicherungsmakler GmbH has been working with the Heath Lambert Group, which is among the five largest insurance brokers world-wide. HLA Global provides the service that Pantaenius clients are accustomed to in more than 50 countries. This not only gives our clients access to international insurance markets, but also assures the continued option of advice in Pantaenius quality around the world.
